Caveat: I am most definitely not a Democrat, but, although conservative and traditionalist, can hardly qualify as a Republican, either. I have serious problems with both political parties. I have fewer problems with the Republican party, though, so that is the one I will express my concerns about here. First I'll use this to try to get action from one who professes to be 'looking out for us', or, failing that, point out why he's not looking out for us, but for himself.

Bill O'Reilly: Looking out for us? You could begin by learning more about that of which you speak, so that you wouldn't make contradictory statements like You think that we have a right to possess rifles and handguns, but you support the Gun Control Act because nobody needs a bazooka. That's disingenuous at best, Bill. Yes, the GCA does mention bazookas, but so do previously existing laws which prohibit private ownership of various "explosive devices". We don't need the GCA to prohibit bazookas, grenades, mines, etc, there are already laws to that effect. Those laws do not, however, prohibit ownership of some specific types of rifles and handguns based on characteristics like a rifle having two out of three of a flash suppressor, pistol grip, and ammunition fed from a removable clip. Those characteristics were chosen because they (1) are easily identifiable, (2) could be used to assign the name "assault weapon" to firearms, and (3) could fool a large number of the public into accepting the GCA. Tell me, Bill, what kind of firearm is NOT an assault weapon? I won't hold my breath waiting for an answer.

By the way, Bill, in case you've forgotten, the publicly stated goal of Gun Control Incorporated and the Brady Bunch is to completely eliminate private ownership and possession of all types of firearms. They are perfectly content to do it piecemeal, one repressive law at a time.

So, Bill, if you're looking out for us, show me. Below are several links to documents about situations that deserve continuous national attention until they are resolved. Will you take them on, or is the Second Amendment only for "Personalities" like yourself, and not for everyone? YOU can get a Concealed Carry Weapons permit, AND pay armed guards to protect you "because you're a high-profile target". But you support the gradual elimination of the right to own firearms for all the rest of us.
